The Joshi Voice Lab had a strong showing at this year’s Fall Voice Conference, with two collaborative presentations highlighting our multidisciplinary research efforts.

  1. Cepstral Peak Prominence in Pediatric Voices Dr. Ashwini Joshi presented findings on cepstral data in non-dysphonic children, a project conducted in collaboration with Dr. Shaheen Awan, Dr. Julina Ongkasuwan, Dr. Marianna Rubino, Teresa Procter, Danielle Devore, and others. This study examined CPP using both Praat and ADSV to support evidence-based pediatric voice assessment.

  2. Personality and Voice Rest Dr. Marianna Rubino also presented early findings on how personality traits may influence compliance with post-surgical voice rest. This project includes contributions from our lab and our collaborative research partners at the Texas Voice Center of Houston Methodist Hospital.

We're proud of the lab’s growing body of collaborative, clinically relevant voice research—thank you to everyone who contributed and supported these efforts!
