Congrats to Stephanie Fan on her presentation at #FallVoiceConference
We are incredibly proud of Stephanie Fan, a first-year PhD student from the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at University of Houston, for her impressive presentation at the Fall Voice Conference. Her focus was the comparison of outcomes from two voice rest programs, an important topic for those recovering from vocal fold surgery or strenuous voice use.
This study, supported by the National Institute on Deafness and Other Communication Disorders (NIDCD), has been a collaborative effort involving the Texas Voice Center, Houston Methodist Hospital, and several esteemed colleagues including Dr. Yin Yiu, Dr. Apurva Thekdi, Abigail Dueppen, Maurice Goodwin, and Teresa Procter
This research is a shining example of the kind of cross-institutional and multidisciplinary collaboration we foster at the Joshi Voice Lab. We believe that by drawing from a diverse pool of knowledge, we can achieve more impactful, practical, and innovative results.
We extend our heartiest congratulations to Stephanie and are eager to see where her research journey takes her next. Stay tuned for more exciting updates from the world of voice disorder research at the Joshi Voice Lab.
